About Legion of the Hydra
Welcome to the home of the Legion of the Hydra!  We're an Elder Scrolls Online, NA megaserver Ebonheart Pact faction guild started by working adults for working adults.  If you've reached this site from a recruitment thread elsewhere online please note that we've closed open recruitment for the time being.  If you're a friend or family member of a current guild member, or if one of the guild officers has spoken to you about joining, please fill out the questionnaire in the Applications forum and complete the short Apply to Guild widget so the site will let us get you on the roster here.

Our name comes from the mythical beast, inspired by the slogan of an aquarium/terrarium hobby website the guild founder belongs to; "From One Comes Many", meaning that one person started the guild, but many will make it what it is.  Our goal is to create a constructive environment that nurtures long term friendship and cooperation. Spouses/partners are welcome!  Many of us have enjoyed playing other games with our spouses/parthers and we know how important time spent playing together can be.

By design we're a relaxed guild.  Some of us have the time to play many hours a day/week we realize real life obligations come first and will not require members to meet activity quotas.  We also encourage members to play how they wish.  If you want to play a Heavy Armor wearing greatsword-swinging Sorcerer go for it!  Class and skill combinations don't matter as long as you're having fun.  The same goes for in-game activities.  If you like to quest all day long, do it.  If you want to craft all the time, go for it.  If dungeons or PVP are your thing(s) come back with your shield or on it!

With ESO allowing players to be a part of multiple guilds at a time our intent is to make LotH our members' core community where they can enjoy the support of fellows while also enjoying participation in more focused guilds if serious raiding, PVP, and RP are areas of interest.  We do require all members' main to be in the Ebonheart Pact to facilitate group activities.  Alts in different alliances are allowed as long as every member participates in guild chat and doesn't ditch scheduled guild events to play an alt in a different alliance.

Our main rule is Don't Be A Dickhead.  Respect is paramount.  Being a guild for mature players, conversation and joking may turn to off-color topics or things like politics etc.  We assume that as adults our members are able to respect each other's points of view even if they disagree.  Sometimes it's just best to agree to disagree and get back to the business of enjoying the game.  This includes in-game topics such as min/maxing, "proper" builds, etc.  If you want to min/max that's fine, but don't expect others to and absolutely do not make condescending remarks about others' play styles or perceived ability.  We're here to have fun playing what we want, how we want, when we want, and with whom we want in an atmosphere that's condusive to such things.  Any form of harassment or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

Rule #2: Real life comes first!  If you have to step away from the game in the middle of something to tend to a child, no worries.  If you've got a business trip or have to work overtime, it's all good.  If you know you'll be away from the game for an extended period please let one of the officers know so we can anticipate your absence from planned events and look forward to your return.

If that all sounds interesting to you please fill out the application and one of our officers will contact you as soon as possible.  We realize some people prefer not to go through the "hassle" of application but we've found a brief application and trial period process to be in everyone's best interest.  We all want to make sure that we're a good fit for you and you're a good fit for us for the long term.  We're not in the business of accepting just anyone to fill a roster.  We'd prefer to be a small community of close members than a large group of people who don't know each other and have very different play styles.  Quality over quantity.
